Well, after months of waiting since the draw was done last year, the 2010 Fifa World Cup is finally upon us!

And where will you be? If you’re like us, the chances are that you’ll be in the office, away from a Television or Radio. Luckily, Twitter have stepped up and provided its users with a number of hubs to follow every world cup match!

Firstly, there’s the World Cup Hub – pulling up Tweets from all the main football commentators and bloggers, the hub page will give you all the insight and speculation you need to keep going during the 12 hours a day when there won’t be any football.

After that, there will be hashtags for all of the teams involved:

#RSA – South Aftica, (Bafana Bafana) – The Hosts
#Mex – Mexico
#Uru – Uruguay – Two times winners
#Fra – France – One time winners

#Kor – South Korea (Korean Republic)
#Gre – Greece
#Arg – Argentina – Two times winners
#Nga – Nigeria

#Eng – England – One time winners (1966 and all that…)
#USA – United States of America
#Alg – Algeria
#Svn – Slovenia

#Ger – Germany – Three time winners (as West Germany)
#Aus – Australia
#Srb – Serbia
#Gha – Ghana

#Ned – Netherlands (Holland)
#Den – Denmark
#Jap – Japan
#Cmr – Cameroon

#Ita – Italy – Four time winners
#Par – Paraguay
#Nzl – New Zealand
#Svk – Slovakia

#Bra – Brazil – Five time winners
#Civ – Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast)
#Por – Portugal
#PRK – North Korea (Korea DPR)

#Esp – Spain
#Sui – Switzerland
#Hon – Honduras
#Chi – Chile

So if (for some bizarre reason) you want to let you know that you’re watching Slovakia vs New Zealand, tag your tweet with #Svk #Nzl, and it’ll appear on the official match page.

The match pages will appear on the world cup hub page, but if you want to indulge with some pre-match banter with our colonial cousins, take a look at the England vs USA page.

We’ll be monitoring the FirstFound Twitter feed with interest, so make sure you keep us updated. Especially when the first match kicks off in a few hours. #RSA or #Mex? My money’s on Mexico to win 2-1…
