Chrome Now Number Two

One thing’s for sure, with the slow uptake on Firefox 4 and Internet Explorer’s continued decline, Google Chrome could well be the browser to watch out for in the future.

Occasionally, the FirstFound Blog makes a prediction that turns out to be correct. Back in March, we suggested that Chrome might grab even more users in an effort to corner the browser market the same way that it has with search.

And lo and behold, Chrome use has risen again.

A mere three years since launch, Chrome has finally overtaken FireFox to become Britain’s second favourite browser (IE remains top, to the consternation of psychologists and technicians alike).

The 22% market share Chrome has in the UK is still some way off IE’s 45% share, but Google’s browser continues to grow in popularity while Internet Explorer suffers security scares on a regular basis.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we have to trawl through the blog’s back catalogue to see if we made any predictions about horses to back!
