Are you an intelligent woman with a grasp of feminist history or childcare? If you are, and you can write, then Wikipedia needs you!
Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales has claimed that while the site’s team of “Geeky, 26 year old males” have no problems with writing about science, technology (and we assume popular Sci-Fi), the site does have a few blind spots. Especially when it comes to areas that are traditionally seen as female areas of expertise.
With this lack of editorial diversity holding the online encyclopaedia back, Wales has announced that Wiki will double the number of contributing editors within 12 months, with a focus on recruiting a wider variety of voices.
Unfortunately, a position on the Wikipedia editorial team won’t make you rich beyond your wildest dreams, because all of the site’s writers and editors are unpaid.
